BOWL OF NOUNS

PLAYERS: 6 to 9 (divided into teams of 2-3 people)

THINGS NEEDED TO PLAY: Bowl, paper, pens, and people!

* Get some little pieces of paper, have everyone write a noun on each piece. Have each player write 2-3 and then put them in a bowl/hat/cup.
* Gather everyone in a circle and assign each person a partner (generally across the room) this is their teammate for the game.
* Round 1: Each player will receive 30 seconds with their partner to go through as many nouns as they can describe and guess. In this first round, you describe the noun in however many words you desire without using the word. Each correct guess becomes a point for the team. The bowl gets passed to each team during their turn until there are no nouns left to guess. At the end of this round, teams count up their points and return their nouns to the bowl.
* Round 2: This round is the same as the first but players can only use one word to describe the noun. Tally points at the end and add to the first rounds score.
* Round 3: In this round, players can only describe the noun by acting it out. No sounds or words can be used. At the end of this round, the game is over and the team with the most points wins.
* ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Depending on your preference, you can change the amount of time players have in each round to guess the noun. Additionally, you can have three per team if odd numbers apply.

HISTORY OF THE GAME: The first time I played this game it was when my sisters were home from college and they had a party. I never knew the actually name of it, therefore I’m calling it Bowl of Nouns. It’s like a mixture of catchphrase and charades in one.
